Sometimes, one conversation can help a young person see their future a little more clearly. Having someone who has walked the path before you can make all the difference, especially when you are trying to figure out what comes next.

Through the Community Youth Network (CYN), we are creating opportunities for young people to learn from others, explore their ambitions, and make informed decisions about their futures.

Meet Richard Sowah, our next CYN Builder!

I am a fifth-year medical student at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology School of Medical Sciences (KNUST SMS).

Being part of CYN has given me the platform to stand before younger students, share my academic journey, and encourage them that they are capable of everything they set their minds on.

I look forward to helping young people become aware of the opportunities available within the careers they choose to pursue.

Through his mentoring sessions, Richard has also supported students navigating important academic decisions. From identifying their interests, strengths, and abilities to exploring suitable courses, entry requirements, and future career opportunities, he helps young people approach their choices with greater clarity and confidence.

For Richard, the goal is to help young people believe in what they can achieve while giving them the guidance to take their next steps.

As a CYN Builder, he brings not only his academic experience but also a willingness to share what he has learned with those coming after him. His contribution reflects the power of mentorship: helping young people make informed choices, recognise their potential, and approach their futures with confidence.

We are proud to have Richard as part of our growing network of young people committed to supporting the next generation.
